The Android client displays the error "Socket is not connected(1)"

If the Android client cannot establish a connection with Switch King's server components (before authentication or logging in), the client may display the error message below:

Socket is not connected(1)

This is probably due to one of the reasons below:

  • The service "SwitchKing REST Service" is not started on the computer where Switch King Server is installed
  • Port 8800 is not open in the firewall on the computer where Switch King Server is installed
  • In the router, the port 8800 is not open and forwarded to the computer where Switch King Server is installed (and you try to access Switch King from outside your own network)

How do I configure the visibility of a device in clients other than the Windows client (Android, iPhone, web)?

Version: 0.8 or later

In Switch King v0.8 or later, the visibility of a device or data source in other clients is configurable. The extensions and clients adapted to 0.8 takes this setting into consideration and shows or hides the device or the data source depending on how the device or data source is configured in the Windows client.
